Goa Staff Selection Commission (GSSC), Panaji, has announced 722 vacancies for Police Constable, Platoon Commander, Range Forest Officer and 11 other Group C posts. Candidates with Class 10, Class 12 or a Bachelor's degree in Science, depending on the post, are eligible. The maximum age limit ranges from 25 to 45 years as on 13 March 2026 depending on the post (with category-wise relaxation). Applications were open online until 13 March 2026 and are now closed. Selection will be through a Computer Based Test (CBT-I), Physical Efficiency Test and CBT-II. Candidates must have knowledge of Konkani and a Goa residence certificate. •Range Forest Officer: Bachelor's degree in Science with two or more of the following subjects: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Forestry or Agriculture.
•Platoon Commander (Male) and Round Forester: Class 12 or equivalent.
•Constable (Greaser) and Constable (Electrician): SSC (Class 10) or equivalent, plus an ITI certificate (Diesel Mechanic / Fitter for Greaser; Electrician for Electrician) and 2 years of workshop experience.
•Police Constable Driver (Grade-III): SSC (Class 10) or equivalent, a valid heavy / light driving licence and 2 years of driving experience.

•Age relaxation: No minimum age is printed in the notice. Maximum age: 45 years for Range Forest Officer, Platoon Commander (Male), Assistant Superintendent (Male), Lascar (Male) and Escort (Female); 35 years for Round Forester and Forest Guard; 30 years for Constable (Greaser), Constable (Electrician), Warden (Male) and Matron (Female); 28 years for Police Constable (Male/Female) and Police Constable (Armed Police); 25 years for Police Constable Driver (Grade-III). Government servants: up to 5 years. For Police Constable, up to 5 years for government servants, Ex-Agniveers and security / housekeeping staff with at least 3 years of service. Armed Police Home Guards: up to 3 years with at least 3 years of service. Driver Home Guards: up to 5 years with at least 5 years as a driver. Ex-Servicemen, Home Guards, Ex-Agniveers and Goa HRD Corporation staff get relaxation as per government orders.

MODE OF SELECTION
This recruitment has 3 selection stages, in the order shown below.
1CBT-I (screening test only): 60 marks, 75 minutes, MCQ, no negative marking. Konkani needs at least 4 of 10 marks.→
2Physical Efficiency Test (PET): qualifying, no marks. The Commission calls 20 times the posts per category on CBT-I merit.→
3CBT-II: merit test, MCQ, no negative marking. Candidates are shortlisted 10 times the posts for Range Forest Officer, Constable (Greaser) and Constable (Electrician), 3.5 times for Police Constable (Male/Female) and 5 times for all other posts.

GOOD TO KNOW
The PET notice dated 24 October 2026 schedules the PET at Goa University Ground, Taleigao, reporting at 07:00 hours: male candidates (3,756) on 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 09, 10, 11, 18 and 19 November 2026, and female candidates (708) on 15 and 16 November 2026. Platoon Commander tests: 100 m, long jump, shot put, high jump and 800 m. Time, dates and instructions are published by the Goa Police Department at citizen.goapolice.gov.in.
PET candidates must bring a hard copy of their Physical Standard Slip and a valid photo ID card. Candidates added through the addendum who already appeared for the PST have had their PST data mapped to the new post.
Konkani knowledge is essential for all posts, and at least 4 of 10 Konkani marks in CBT-I are mandatory.
The fee is charged per post applied for.
