State Bank of India (SBI), Mumbai, has announced 1,538 vacancies for Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales). Candidates with Graduation in any discipline are eligible. The age limit is 20 to 28 years as on 01 April 2026 (with category-wise relaxation). Applications were open online from 07 August 2026 to 27 August 2026 and are now closed. Selection will be through a Preliminary Exam, Main Exam and Local Language Proficiency Test. Only SC, ST and OBC candidates could apply, as these are backlog vacancies. - Discharge certificate from the employer (for candidates serving in Govt. / Quasi Govt. offices, PSUs, Nationalised Banks and Financial Institutions)
- Class 10 / 12 mark sheet for local language exemption
- 1Online registration was open on the SBI careers page (Current Openings section, sbi.bank.in). Go to Special Recruitment drive for Junior Associates 2026 and click Recruitment of Junior Associates.
- 2Keep ready scanned files: photograph (JPG, 20 to 50 KB), signature (JPG, 10 to 20 KB), left thumb impression (JPG, 20 to 50 KB) and a handwritten declaration in English, not in capital letters (JPG, 50 to 100 KB). A live photo is also captured.
- 3Fill in the details and choose one State/UT and one local language. You can save the form up to 3 times; no edit is allowed after final submission.
- 4OBC candidates pay the ₹750 fee online by debit card, credit card or internet banking. Transaction charges are borne by the candidate. SC/ST/PwBD/XS/DXS candidates pay no fee.
- 5The last date to register and pay the fee was 27 August 2026. Do not send a printout of the application to the Bank.

Q. What is the age limit?
A. The age limit is 20 to 28 years as on 01 April 2026, with relaxation of 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST, plus other relaxations in the notice.

A. The fee is ₹750 for OBC. It is Nil for SC/ST/PwBD/XS/DXS candidates. The fee is non-refundable.
Q. What is the selection process and when are the exams?
A. Selection is by a Preliminary Exam, Main Exam and Local Language Proficiency Test (if needed). The notice tentatively planned the Preliminary Exam for September 2026 and the Main Exam for October/November 2026; exact dates were to be notified.
Q. What is the salary of an SBI Junior Associate?
A. The starting basic pay is ₹26,730, with total emoluments of about ₹46,000 per month at a metro centre.

- Vacancies are provisional and may vary as per Bank requirement.
- This special drive is only for SC, ST and OBC backlog vacancies. Registration closed on 27 August 2026.
- A candidate can apply for one State/UT only. There is no inter-circle or inter-state transfer, except within Delhi and Lucknow (UP), and between Mumbai Metro and Maharashtra.
- PwBD and ex-servicemen candidates apply under their parent category; the notice gives no separate seat numbers for them.
- Prelim marks are not counted in the final merit. Final merit is made on Main exam marks only. Scribe is allowed for candidates with 40% or more disability, with 20 minutes per hour compensatory time.
- The exam medium is English / Hindi plus a regional language for each State.
- Scribe rules (notice of 19 October 2026): Use a scribe only if you chose it in the application form. Arrange your own scribe at your own cost. The scribe can be from any stream and must not be a candidate in this drive. Candidate and scribe both give an undertaking with the scribe's photo. Extra time of 20 minutes per hour is given only if chosen at application. The disability certificate must be dated on or before 27 August 2026. If the scribe is under the 10 August 2022 OM, bring the medical certificate (Appendix I) and undertaking (Appendix II) to the exam. The scribe's qualification must be one step below the candidate's. Keep a valid Aadhaar, as the Bank verifies candidates and scribes online.
